This fine English early Victorian period writing or library table has a rectangular top with an inset, tooled black leather surface, above two side by side drawers, each with two round headed bronze pulls centering a simple key hole escutcheon, with locks marked I. Bramak's Late Patent, raised on shaped and pierced scrolling legs, joined by a turned stretcher, ending in plank form supports, ending in scrolling feet. The desk is decorated throughout with inset mother of pearl and multi-colored gilding, depicting chinoiserie and foliate motifs.
