This American Classical period day bed, or recamier, was made in Boston from richly colored, figured mahogany, with a strongly curved foot rail, the back at one end terminates in a carved rosette, the lobed and turned legs terminate at the figural foot rail with carved rosette blocks, all raised on metal casters.
